Katie has lived in Indianapolis most of her life after moving here from Ohio at a very young age. She attended the University of Indianapolis majoring in Human Resource Management and Spanish, graduating in the top of five of her class in 2004. After completing her undergraduate degree, Katie went directly to law school and graduated from Indiana University School of Law in Indianapolis in 2007. She began her legal career in litigation of medical negligence claims. She has exclusively represented injured persons since 2011. Katie prides herself in helping those in need, being well-prepared, and having compassion in her practice.
Katie has been named a Super Lawyers Rising Star from 2017 to 2022 and Super Lawyers 2023 to present. She has also been named Top 40 under 40 by The National Trial Lawyers. Katie is an active member of the Indiana Trial Lawyers Association including serving on its Board of Directors from 2024 to present, Indianapolis Bar Association, and has been a rotating member of the Sagamore American Inn of Courts.
Katie has given numerous presentations on personal injury, medical malpractice, insurance coverage, and trial preparation to ITLA and other associations such as National Association of Female Executives. She has also written articles for the Verdict (ITLA Publication) on topics such as How to Deal with Difficult Defense Attorneys. Katie is active in her community and church volunteering at Gleaners, Second Helpings, and other local charities. She volunteered for over fifteen years in the Teen Court juvenile diversion program through Reach For Youth.
Katie has tried 27 injury cases over her legal career and helped thousands of clients resolve their injury cases. She has handled several appeals before both the Indiana Court of Appeals and the 7th Circuit Federal Court of Appeals, including an oral argument in Chicago in 2016. Katie has also authored Amicus Briefs in support of Appeals.
Katie lives in the Indianapolis area with her children and dog. In her spare time, Katie enjoys the outdoors, live music, and keeping active with yoga.
